Request for Proposal
The Ocean State Trauma Informed Community Coalition (OSTICC) is seeking a consultant to assist OSTICC with the increasing the knowledge and utilization of Trauma-Informed Principles and Activities by: researching trauma informed principles, hosting meetings and conferences, coordinating trainings, and directing trauma-informed activities as listed below. This project will run through September 30, 2024 with the potential for an extension.
OSTICC’s mission is to The Ocean State Trauma-Informed Community Coalition’s mission is to look through a “trauma informed lens” to seek the root causes of our most challenging issues within our communities and develop a collaborative of community stakeholders to provide the vision, organization, training, and leadership to actively promote an understanding of trauma informed approaches, build resiliency and create a more welcoming community across the State of Rhode Island.
OSTICC requires the following services:
- Organize, host, and run meetings to engage and grow members. Develop and nurture connections in the statewide and national community.
- Identify needs in the community. Develop strategies to expand training on trauma and resilience. Coordinate and provide trainings on trauma and resilience.
- Advocate for issues important to the goals of a trauma informed community, including communicating with policy makers and legislators. Attend local events to raise awareness and provide outreach.
- Provide outreach activities, including, managing a website and creating and distributing materials, and hosting and attending events.
- Developing strategies to expand trauma informed training statewide.
- Grow and managing volunteers and others to staff events run by OSTICC.
- Manage a budget and bank account in conjunction with the Rhode Island Developmental Disabilities Council (RIDDC).
- Maintain regular communications with RIDDC.
- Identify and pursue additional sources of funding to further the goals of OSTICC, particularly grants and fundraising.
- Collect data and file reports for any grants

This is a part-time position (10 hours per week). Salary between $40 and $50 per hour based on experience and skills of the contractor.
